Naruto is an area located in the northern part of Tokushima prefecture. It includes the city of Naruto and the county of Itano. It is connected to Awaji Island in Hyogo prefecture by the Great Naruto Bridge.
Sightseeing spots include Great Naruto Bridge, a popular place to see the whirlpools in the Naruto Strait. You can see the whirlpools up close by taking a sightseeing boat such as Whirlpool Sightseeing Boat. Please check the weather forecast in advance as there are some days when they cannot be seen because of weather conditions. Other than that, there are the Otsuka Museum of Art, which displays ceramic reproductions of masterpieces from around the world, and the Oasahiko-jinja Shrine, which is considered to be beneficial for traffic safety and protecting against misfortune.
You can get around this area by car or Naruto line. The nearest airport is Tokushima Awaodori Airport and it takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there from Tokyo.
