Toba / Shima Travel Guide

The Toba - Shima area refers to the southeastern part of Mie Prefecture, and the entire city area includes Toba city and Shima city designated as Ise Shima National Park.

In Shima City, there is a theme park with the motif of Spain called "Shima Spa Pain Village Parque España". There is also the "Aiga Bay Island Tour" around the islands of Ago Bay, which can be enjoyed with the family. In addition, the G7 Ise Shima Summit will be held in Kashikojima, Shima City in May of 2016.

In Toba City, the birthplace of pearl aquaculture, we recommend "Mikimoto Pearl Island" where you can see artworks using pearls. The famous "Toba Aquarium" is also popular because it holds about 1,200 species and you can see rare creatures such as the rice beetle there.

From Tokyo, take the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen about 1 hour and 40 minutes to Nagoya station, next walk 15 minutes to Kinki Nippon Railway "Kintetsu Nagoya Station" and take the train for about 1 hour and 35 minutes to Kintetsu "Toba station".
